Looky what I bought!

The whole name. below are closeups of each letter so you can see the design better.

I wanted to buy some wood letters and paint them for Lexi's wall...but Robert's was always out of the letters I needed. Also, I am not very crafty! My plan was to paint them white, and with the flat end of a craft brush put polka-dots on them:)...crafty eh?! but luckily I found this lady on ebay that can pretty much paint whatever you want. I gave her the name and the color's I wanted and let her do whatever, figured it would be better than anything I could attempt! This is what she came up with and I think they are so cute! (she does boy's names too, with sports stuff, cars, trains or superhero stuff on them...very cute!)

All that stress for nothing!

We have decided to take our house off the market til next year. That's right, you heard me correctly! All that hard work and stress and craziness for the month of July...and we are giving up:) Well, not really. We just got to looking around at everything we had done and decided that we wanted to enjoy it for a while! We will still leave it on the website and if someone finds it and wants it...great, if not, oh well.
So, I guess we will for sure be here thru winter and start marketing it again after spring break. Plus, that gives us time to get our contractor stuff worked out and hopefully get our money back before we start looking to buy again!

The universe is against me

It seems like whenever I decide to get healthy, lose the baby weight and get on a workout routine...it never works. The universe is conspiring against me losing weight. Last week when school started I decided that once Hadley was off to school I was going to go to the gym with the other two kids...try to lose a little weight before we hit the beach in a few weeks. I was doing awesome! Got on such a good routine, working out hard, the kids were having fun in the daycare. But, of course Lexi is sick as can be...again. This time we made it a whole week(instead of 3 days) before she got sick....do they ever clean that place?!?! I think I will just take her anyway, I mean the germs are obviously already there...right;)
I have a theory, I think that I am just so dang sexy and awesome right now that people can hardly handle it...if I lost the baby weight...well let's just say the world isn't ready for that much awesomeness!!!!

Saturday

Getting ready to head out the door to soccer
Hadley played goalie for the first quarter. Quickly discovered that you can't be the star scorer of the game if you're the goalie...say's he will never do it again.
Lexi just chillin at Devin's game. I assured her that someday the boys would have to sit thru her dance recitals!
Devin, taking off with the ball.
You can't see Devin cuz he is in front of all the kids, but you can see the ball going into the net.
My boyfriend washed my car!
Watching dad start the fire.
The boys cooking their hotdogs with Peter standing ready with the fire extinguisher ( we really aren't that paranoid, peter was just being silly)
Finishing the night with scripture reading on the deck. we thought that maybe if we did it outside instead of the living room they might actually sit still and be quiet long enough to hear some of it....
It actually worked until they discovered this bug on the chair next to Hadley, it was all over after that.

Saturday started off bright and early. Hadley had a soccer game at 8am...yes, you read that right 8am! Which means we had to get everybody up, dressed, fed and to the field by 7:45am....anyone who knows me, knows what a horrible morning this was! I HATE mornings...I absolutely despise getting up. But, we got up at 7 and had all 5 of us up, dressed and out the door by 7:30...yup, I am that good! Once we got to Devin's 10am game and it was already HOT...I actually missed the 8am game! I looked at the schedule tho and luckily no more....save those dang early games for those psycho "morning" people! What a morning...the two things I despise the most...getting up early and hot weather! Hadley lost his game, which was hard for him cuz they didn't lose a single game last year. Devin won his. it was so cute! Devin was pretty much the only one that knew what he was doing, the other kids were skipping around, playing with leaves and of course holding hands! It was nice to go to a game where it's not competitive yet and the parents can all still sit together and be nice:)
We came home and got the house cleaned up for the open house. When that was over Peter so kindly cleaned my car, inside and out...of course I made him cuz he forgot to close my windows the other day when he was sanding in the garage!
That night we did a fire...in my freakin awesome firepit that I built...seriously, I could work for hgtv!:) It was such a fun, busy day. We love it when daddy has saturday's off!

My dear sweet Hadley

yeah, he has a mouthful of food, but he's still cute!

I just have to write down this story so I don't ever forget it....I actually cried. since I get my blog printed into a book/journal I want this day documented!
Hadley had come home from school and we were driving to Highland for a flower delivery and from the backseat he pipes up "mom, I think I heard the Holy Ghost today." So I say "oh yeah? what happened?" "well" he says, " I was coming home and there were lots of kid's on the sidewalk and so I got on the road to go around them and I heard somebody in my head whisper to get back on the sidewalk, so I got back on the sidewalk and then a really fast car went past us right where I had been standing!"
I feel so happy to know that Lord is watching over my children when I can't be there! I pray that Hadley always remembers this day and the feeling he had. I love him so much, he is such an awesome big brother. He loves his little sister more than I ever thought possible. And I know that he picks on Devin now but they are going to be the best of friends some day. We are lucky to have him in our family, I truly believe that he is meant to do great things in this life! I often wonder why I was chosen to raise such a kid but I thank the Lord daily that he entrusted him to my care...and pray daily that I don't mess him up to much!:)

My day

Let's see, what did I do today. I went to the gym...3rd day in a row! I am so sore I can hardly walk but that's good...right?
I took Devin out to lunch. I bought Devin cleats and shinguards for soccer, oh yeah, and I saved Devin's life!
K, so we were out and about running errands. we had found a store that carries the smaller sized cleats so we went to get Devin some. He picked out his super cool cleats and immedietly ran in circles around the store while I was picking out shinguards and paying...yelling at the top of his lungs...see how fast they make me?!
Since we were in Orem and had to go take Hadley to soccer practice and wouldn't be home for a while we made a baby feeding pitstop at grandma's house. Devin was eating a lifesaver and playing with Hadley and somehow inhaled the lifesaver. Hadley comes screaming over with a panicked looking Devin..."he's choking, he's choking". So, I grabbed him and did the Heimlich...only it didn't work. I couldn't' get a good hold on him cuz he was freaking out. squirming and jumping up and down and pretty much acting like he was dying...for good reason I guess:) Since the Heimlich wasn't working(and at this point I was starting to panic a little) I decided to try the upward back thrusts...which are technically for babies...but I had to try something. And, it worked. In went air...out came vomit...lots of it. I was catching it in my hands so it wouldn't get on grandma's carpet while hadley took 12 years to find me a bowl...on a bright note...he had just had a frosty so it smelled like chocolate vomit:)
In over 7 years of being a mom that was the first and hopefully the last time I ever have to use my first aide training!

Getting to know me!

Well, my friend passed on this getting to know you questionairre...so I will be the good friend that I am and do it. Guess it's good for the journal aspect of my blog...right...posterity will want to know these things!

Devin's turn.

posing in his uniform(he didn't want to)
Sulking on the floor after I told him he couldn't wear the shorts.
with his team(he's the one with the ball on his head)
found him watching tv with his ball
from the front (when he saw the camera he held up his ball and said make sure you get a picture of my ball!)

Devin has been sitting on the sidelines of Hadley's games for 3 years and now...he finally gets to play! He is so excited! Yesterday was his first practice...he wanted to wear his uniform which was HUGE on him...especially the shorts and socks. it was sooo cute! The shorts are going to have to be pinned...I didn't have one yesterday so he wasn't happy that he couldn't wear them to practice.

The league gave all the kids soccer balls and he has been carrying it around all day. he slept with it under his bed, he ate dinner with it on his lap, and when I got out of the shower today I found him watching tv with it.
Thanks to big brother he is so far ahead of the other kids...we are going to have to work with him on not being a ball hog! He kept stealing the ball away and when he got it and started dribbling it down the field you could hear him yelling, "ha ha it's mine now!" I tried really hard not to laugh since we don't want to encourage the unsportsmanlike behavior...but it was cute!

First day of school

First day of Kindergarten
First day of first grade(not sure why he looks constipated)
Today, my big second grader!

Hadley started 2nd grade today. My baby is getting so big! Usually he rides his bike to school but he had all that first day of school stuff to carry so I gave him a ride today and thats when it hit me. At Barratt, the kindergarten and first grade line up on one side of the school and everyone else one the other side. So today I got to drop him off on the "big kid" side of the school. I actually teared up a little. He is getting so big. He is such a helper and I love him to death...most of the time:)
Poor Devin was bored to tears! We dropped Hadley at school then went to the gym (hopefully this will be routine) then went home (on the way home he asked if hadley would be there when we got home), put Lexi down and Devin went outside to play while I made beds and cleaned up breakfast and showered. I looked outside at one point to check on him and he was just sitting on a swing looking so lonely:( I took a picture but stupid me, had no memory card in the camera and I am too lazy to go downstairs and find the cable and hook up the camera to the computer to get the pic on here...you will just have to trust me, it would break your heart!
So, I did workbook stuff with him and let him help me make lunch and do laundry. We managed to survive our first day. This is one of the times I just hate the 3 year age gap between them!

We really do love each other:)

K, so I just realized that today is our anniversary!:) We always seem to forget about it. For those who don't know, I got mono really bad about a week before our wedding and was put in the hospital. To ease the stress on me by not having the wedding and reception the same day, we changed our wedding date at the last minute from the 18th to the 17th (it was easier than changing the reception, less people involved) but, all of our pictures and invitations and everything still say the 18th so we can never remember which day it actually is. I wish I could just say it was Peter that never remembers but I never do either...I still love you babe!
This picture from our Hawaii cruise last year is the most recent picture I have of us together, and of course we are both wearing sunglasses so you can't even tell it's us...oh well!
Happy 9th Anniversary! We have had our ups and downs but I wouldn't change any of it for the world. Here's to many more anniversaries....that we wont remember:)!!
