Nothing exciting.

I made my way to the Orem library today, mostly cuz Hadley needed internet for school and my in-laws internet is painfuly slow;)
Nothing going on yet, we are still waiting to hear from the bank on the house we have an offer on. We are seriously starting to go stir crazy living in the basement apartment with not much to do. Hadley is convinced life can't get any worse, he goes to school with all his friends then has to watch them walk home together to play while he gets to jump in the car and go hang out in a basement with his family...poor kid. He actually sobbed the whole way home yesterday, it broke my heart. We are getting really anxious to get into a new house. This whole living in limbo thing is getting old really quick.
We took Devin to the dr, his fracture is really stable so they said he doesn't need the hard cast for 6 weeks like they originally thought. He just has to keep the soft one on for another week and then he is done, YAY!
With no internet, and no dvr and pretty much just living in a hole:) I have had to come up with stuff to do. I decided that what better time that to catch up on some reading. I thought I would see what all the fuss was about and start the "Twilight" books. Well, I bought the first one thinking it would last me a week or so...I finished it in 4 hours. I started 2 days ago and am almost done with book 3:)...it's safe to say I am hooked! I don't know what I am going to do when I finish them...any other good bood suggestions??
(this did remind me why I quit reading...it is pure torture for me to put down a book before I have finished it...can't/wont do it! So, I pretty much neglect the rest of my life when I read:) )

and to top off our week.....

....we were in the ER til 2am last nite.
Devin fell off the bunkbed and broke his arm.
He is in a soft cast and sling for a week til it's done swelling, then he will get a hard cast next week. He fractured his elbow so he has to have one all the way up his arm, with his arm bent in a sling. Poor kid. He is doing good though, good thing he is a lefty:)

a few thoughts....

Living in a rental sucks!
We still don't have a new house:(
I am sick of driving from Orem to American Fork 3 times a day for school...and it's only been 2 days!

Stupid people.

The stupid sellers of the house we put an offer on....just decided they don't want to sell their house anymore.
it's been on the market for a year and a half, but the week we put in an offer is the week they have decided to stay.
pooey on them!
so begins the house hunting again.....

Trouble maker.

Lexi has figured out how to climb up the chairs and onto the kitchen table. It has gotten to the point where I don't even try to stop her anymore. Even falling off a couple times hasn't phased her. She climbs up there every chance she gets.

In this shot, I was saying "get off the table" and she put her hands up by her ears and started babbling! She watches her brother's way too much!

Then she was taunting me "looky at me on the table mom!"

SOOO proud of herself. She thinks she is such a big girl *sigh* I swear she was just a little baby yesterday...

Lexi has been so funny to watch during this move. She is not happy about her surroundings changing. She is terrified of the boxes, especially when the boys get in them. She walks from room to room and points at the walls and places things used to be and looks at me like "mom, where did it go?"
She gets very stressed and upset when we pick up and move furniture, literally starts shaking and crying and tries to push it back onto the floor.
I think the reality of it all is starting to sink in. I had to tell Hadley and Devin's soccer coaches that they wont be coming back for spring season today and I almost cried. We don't have alot of attatchments around here but soccer and preschool are our big ones. Hadley has played with and gone to school with these kids for 3 years now. And Devin just loves preschool. It makes me so sad to take him away from all his friends just 5 weeks before the end and graduation.
We are excited to move and begin a new adventure, but change is hard. I know that by the time summer rolls around and they are running around everyday with the gazillion kids in our new neighborhood...they wont be sad about leaving here anymore...but until then, I get a little misty-eyed everyday.

Olson family indoor football.

Our kids have been having to find new ways to entertain themselves since I have been packing up all their stuff. Between very few toys and lots of room to run cuz lots of the furniture is gone, they decided to play football last night.

Lexi got the ball and was running from the boys.

Hadley and Devin fighting(nicely) over the ball.

Devin desperatlely trying to keep Hadley from touching the wall and scoring!

Some of the kids new favorite toys are boxes, probably cuz they are lying all over the house. Devin was setting this one up to use as a basketball hoop.

Hadley making a basket....with a football???

Crafty.

Now I know there are better things I could be doing with my time right now:) but I was packing Lexi's room yesterday and found all the stuff I had bought to make her a holder for her barretts and stuff.
Well, I have been meaning to make it for months and I knew that if I just packed it up then it would be months (if ever) before I got around to making it. So, I put off packing for a while and made this for Lexi.
For the self-proclaimed "uncraftiest person on earth" I thought it turned out kinda cute.

A shot of the whole thing

Close up of the words

with some of her hair stuff on it...I underestimated how much stuff she had and couldn't fit it all on...oh well.

If you thought riding a horse naked was fun....

.... you should try dancing!

Lexi is enthralled with Ellen and her dancing, and alway's dances with her. The bottom picture is a little blurry cuz she was going crazy. Normally she just kinda bobs around but she was a crazy woman dancing all over the room....guess it felt good to dance in the nude!

*I promise I do dress my daughter:)

4 Days.

I figured I had better start preparing all my loyal followers...only 4 days left until I don't have a computer for a month!
I know it's going to be really difficult to not have my totally awesome posts to read, or receive any wonderful email's from me or facebook status updates:) You will make it thru, I promise! Believe me, I know how hard it will be...I am around myself all the time and I still can't get enough:)
And maybe if you are lucky, I will make my way to my in-law's once in a while to at least check email...that is if I am not sick of being in the car 24/7 taking kids to and from school!

Buddies.

This morning I had another moment of needing Lexi to leave me alone for a few minutes. I turned on Barney. I have only does this a handful of times and she usually only watches for 5 minutes max, but I will take it:)
This morning I put in the video (yes video) and she started clapping and sat down(it was very cute) I went in the kitchen to get my stuff done and I peeked around the corner a few minutes later to see how she was doing. Devin had gotten her a pillow and they were laying next to each other watching it, it was sooo cute! Only lasted about 3 minutes but it was cute while it lasted!

Silly girl.

Lexi was "helping" Peter unload the dishwasher last nite. She grabbed the lid to his gatorade bottle and ran around the kitchen like this for a while. She thought she was so funny, laughing and just being adorable.

Spinning.

As much as I wish the title of this post meant I had some awesome story to tell you about a spinning class I was taking or something...alas, it has nothing to do with my exersizing, or lack therof:)

Hadley was spinning Lexi in the computer chair and it was really cute.

Checking to make sure she was having fun, you can tell by her face she was having lots of fun!

Is there anything better...

than riding a horse naked?

Suprise!

A couple days ago I got the vacuum out of the cleaning closet and went to do some cleaning. I forgot to close the door so the next time I walked by it I pushed it closed, and I heard a noise from inside. I opened the door and there was Lexi! If only opening the cleaning closet was always so much fun!!

Change of plans.

So we went house shopping yesterday. I had been thinking about this house all week. I loved the house, but all week couldn't help but be a little unsure about the neighborhood. Somebody in my ward made the comment that you can make your house what you want...but you can't really change your neighborhood.
Our realtor took us to the house I loved, Peter also really like the house but was also not thrilled with the neighborhood. So we took a couple of hours and looked at some other houses. We found another one that we liked that was in a better neighborhood. The first house was 3900sf all finished. This house is 3600sf, but the basement isn't finished. It's the same price as the finished one so I guess we are paying for location:) We are putting in an offer this week and we will see how it goes.
With the first house, we were 99% happy with the house but only about 60% happy with the neighborhood. This new house, we are 100% happy with the neighborhood and about 95% happy with the house:) there are a few things we will have to change over time, but like my friend said, we can make the house what we want!
We are excited and hopefully we can get a price agreed upon this week so we have a place to go when our month is up in the rental:)

p.s. This new house is alot closer to our good friends. Hadley would go to the same school as his best friend and I think that will really help ease the stress of moving the last 2 months of the school year, we also started signing them up for baseball and soccer out there so jumping right into that will hopefully make this move as stress-free as possible!!

Again...no pics until we know it's ours...sorry:) (posting pics makes it feel more like ours and then I will be disapointed if the offer doesn't go thru)

our week

*We started loading our storage unit with all of our garage and storage room crap.(and realized it's not going to even come close to fitting...we have to get another one:(
*My sister-in-law came over and helped me pack for a day. we got 53 boxes packed in one day...and we didn't make much of a dent:(
*I went dumpster diving with the above sister-in-law:) it was quite fun and found that Robert's has really good boxes.
*Lexi made a new best friend, again... the above mentioned sil! Lexi doesnt' like many people but from the moment she walked in the door Lexi just loved her, and would reach for her even when I was holding her.
*Hadley went to scouts, my baby is getting so big.
*Peter put $15 down in his work's SuperBowl pool...and won $150! (it wasn't technically gambling...right??:) )
*Hadley's front tooth that has been really loose FOREVER...finally fell out! (only a minor meltdown this time)
*The pipes under our kitchen sink broke, I have no kitchen sink or dishwasher, we are pretty much out of dishes. we may have to hit mcdonalds for breakfast in the morning.
*I discovered my good friend from Boise that came for Hadley's baptism...left her skirt here. I am holding it ransom so she has to come see me again mwahahaha!

*that's about all I can think of that has gone on this week. not very exciting. This part of the moving process sucks, we are already mentally gone from this place so we are just ready to go. and I wish we didn't have the month overlap now. Since we are moving an hour away, keeping Hadley in school isn't really an option, so I wish we didn't have that month and could just get him started out in Stansbury Park already.

I had to put some pictures on here so I wouldn't have a boring post like Erin...ha ha ha:) (luv ya)

I think we found it.

Our new house that is:)
I have seen it but Peter hasn't. We are going to go again on Saturday so that he can see it but I am in love with this house!!! It isn't exactly where we thought we would be living, but we feel it's right.
We have toyed with the idea of moving to Stansbury Park for several years now. We have really good friends that live out there and we have known for years that we would move at some point and they always told us how much they love it. But we could never get over how far out it seemed. (it's actually closer to SLC than we are now, just more west towards Reno)
well, Peter has another good friend from work that lives out there and has been telling us we should come. We really thought we would look in Utah County (where we are now) first. But everytime I went out with the realtor I just came home with a very un-settled, confused feeling. We found this house out in Stansbury online but pushed it back thinking we would find something here but nothing has felt right.
we spent this Sunday fasting about where we should move our family. Yesterday I went out with our realtor and only saw one house. He hadn't been able to get a hold of any agents to make appointments to see houses...he said that never happens. But every neighborhood we drove thru all I could think about was that house out in Stansbury. I finally turned to him and said, how do you feel about driving an hour to look at a house:) he said no problem. He called the agent and we had an appointment to see it in less than a minute. The instant the car was turned around and we were on the freeway, I felt like a 50lb weight had been lifted from me!
I love this house. It is pretty close to what I have been picturing in my head. Most of Stansbury is newer developments but this house, which was built in 2006, is in the original part of town so it's got a good mix of older and newer houses all over. And there are no houses for sale around there which is good. I like that it is a mix of ages. We want a neighborhood with more kids...but not too many kids like so many wards out there have.
We don't know alot about the neighborhoods out there so we are going to take our friends with us to look at it on saturday. hopefully they will inform us that it's a good neighborhood and we will make an offer:)
It will take some time to get used to a whole new town so far away from where we currently live, but it will be a fun adventure. And we are not that far from salt lake so people better still call us when they are in utah!:)
I don't want to post any links to pictures til we know it's ours:) but hopefully soon!

Hadley's baptism.

Hadley was baptized on Saturday. It was a fun special day, and we are so proud of him!
I knew I was in trouble cuz as soon as he walked in the room in his white jumpsuit I started crying...then I had to give a talk later. I was a blubbering mess!:)

Hadley and Peter before the baptism

Hadley right after in his new suit. We also got him his own set of nice scriptures with his name on them.

With Dad.

Hadley with Mom and Dad. Sorry about the bare feet:) I was wearing high heels and didn't want to be taller than Peter in the picture:)

Thank you to everyone who came and showed their love and support to Hadley. It meant alot to us to have friends and family there.

Distracted.

My 14month old is driving me crazy!!! I love her to death but she is into everything and goes everywhere and contantly gets in every kind of trouble possible! She is more work at this age than both the boys were combined!!
The other day I was just deperately trying to get something done and she just wouldn't leave me alone. So, I broke down and put on a Barney video and gave her a little bowl of popcorn. She left me alone for almost 15 minutes!!! it was great:)

She didn't care much about barney but loved the little bowl (it was one of those little condiment bowls) she would eat the popcorn and I would refill it and she just loved it!
