Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my boyfriends birthday! Peter turned 32! When we told Devin how old he was his eye's got really big and he said "YOUR A GRANDPA NOW!?!" Gotta love kids and their thinking...actually I still remember when 30 seemed really old...now I just feel like anything under 30 is really young. I think that when you turn 30 you can officially call yourself an adult...which means I still have a while to be a kid!:) (do men ever really grow up tho???)
Well, unfortunately...as so often happens once you grow up...his birthday was just another regular day. Fixed a leaky toilet, went grocery shopping, washed the car, etc... we did manage to go out to dinner tho. Peter decided to go to the Mayan, mostly to cater to the kids. (funny how even YOUR birthday's become THEIR day) so we loaded up and headed to Sandy. When we got to the Mayan there was over an hour wait:( since we were all starving and knew the kids wouldn't be good out front for an hour AND be good in the restraunt we decided to go somewhere else. We didn't want to load up and drive again so we had to choose from the restraunts that were there...so we ended up at Spagetti Mama's..never heard of it...and probably will never go back:) but oh well. (people make fun of us for always going out to eat at the same places...but we like our regular places!..we don't like change)
Anyway, that's about all that happened for Peter's birthday. We took some pics at the restraunt...yes, we Olson's have no class and pose for pics like this in public places!:)
Happy Birthday Dad!

More 5th of July

K, I don't know if it's just me not knowing much about computers but blogger wont let me put more than 5 pics on a post so these are the other pics from the 5th that I wanted to put on here.

5th of July

The 5th started out as just a normal day. Chores, flower deliveries...normal boring stuff. Peter set up the tent, and was very proud of himself. The boys "helped" with the tent by swinging. We had dinner around the fire, did sparklers for a while and then the boys and dad camped in the backyard. Poor Devin was so tired by the time they got around to getting ready to go out to the tent that he fell asleep on the chair waiting and Peter had to carry him, asleep, out to the tent.
I was worried that they would be up with the sun at 5:30 but they slept in til 8 so it wasn't too bad. I know there are people out there who, after reading this, will tell me that they believe that everyone should get up with the sun and us people who sleep in are wasting the day...then there are people like me...who think those kind of people should be shot!!:) So I am not a morning person, who cares:) I am totally going to be sleeping in til noon with my teenagers on saturdays! in fact, I can't wait for that part of life;)

4th of July

Well, the boys are outside(actually not trying to kill each other) and lexi is sleeping so maybe I can get a post in. I am gonna take it all the way back to the 4th of July, if i can even remember what we did, it seems like so long ago!
Well, for the first time ever Peter had the whole weekend off..usually he doesn't even get the 4th off so this was a nice treat. We started the day in Park City doing some school shopping then headed home. We were supposed to do a fire and the boys were going to "camp" in the backyard with dad. When we got home though, we discovered a last minute bbq had been thrown together at grandma's house so we decided to do the camping the next nite.

After the bbq we headed over to Pleasant Grove Jr. High (about 5 minutes from us) for the big firework show. The kids had fun throwing a football with dad and Lexi thought the glow sticks were the coolest thing ever!

We are horrible parent's and this is the first "real" fireworks our kids had ever seen, they were completely mesmerized. Lexi was scared at first but quickly settled down and happily watched from the safety of dad's lap.

Still Alive...barely

well, I have made it thru another week. I feel SLIGHTLY less stressed out. I have my soccer teams formed and after a threatening email...I am starting to get some volunteers to coach. We are still trying to work out our contractor situation and get our house on the market in two weeks! Peter and I are actually going to look at some houses today, I know we haven't sold ours yet but we want to get an idea of what's out there.
I decided that I better start doing one entry a night on our blog til I catch up or I never will. So, I will write about all our adventures in the next few days. As for now, today is a good day...a good break from the crazyness...today has been a light in the midst of my stress for a while now! Why you ask? I will tell you...tonight is the season premiere of PSYCH!!! Yay!:) We love that show...it really truly just makes me happy...even just all the promotions have put a smile on my face. And of course with psych comes monk...which used to be our favorite show until psych came along. Peter and I don't have alot of shows that we both like, well he doesn't have any shows besides sports center, but every friday night we get the kids to bed, get chinese food and watch monk and psych...good times!
At least now we have something to tide us over til House comes back this fall (the only other show we both like).

Thought for the day

Would I be an accessory to murder if I just let the boys kill each other?

Our crazy life!

Well, today is Peter's 16hr shift...the night I usually catch up on blogging for the week but I am too busy running around trying to catch up on life right now so I don't have time to look back on my week and upload pictures...hopefully next week. So here is a brief summary of our life at the moment. I decided it was time to get rid of the baby weight(only took 7 months) so I started going to the gym last week (and took the kids to the gym daycare) we went 3 times and we are all sick. So everyone is coughing and hacking and snotty including lexi who is also teething so I have gotten about ....NO sleep for a while and tonite isn't looking promising! I am trying to get as much done as possible in 15 minute increments before she pukes again or wants to be held and rockered again.
Then, we got the crazy notion to not wait until spring to sell our house but to try and get it on the market by august 1st. So we are running around like crazy trying to get a million and one projects done to get it ready to sell, so between that and sick kids my house is a disaster zone...and anyone who knows what a clean freak I am...knows how STRESSED OUT I get when my house is messy!! And of course we are in contractor h**l right now. We hired these guys to put in our basement bathroom the beginning of march, they said it would take 2 to 3 weeks...its 10 days into july and we still aren't done. so we fired them and started trying to find someone else to finish it...and in the process found out that they don't have our money anymore to pay us back(we have overpaid) and they never got a permit and did anything right and there are a TON of code violations and stuff. So we are meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to file a lawsuit against our contractor. which may mean we are stuck here til that is over.
Then, I got the crazy notion to volunteer for Hadley and Devin's soccer league:) I wish I could build a time machine and take that one back!!! I have like 50 kids I have to put into teams and find coaches, assistant coaches and team parents for each team. And it's supposed to be done by the 24th of july weekend!! If I survive this month it will be a miracle! Anyway, sorry this turned into a novel:) but it felt good to vent:) and now lexi is screaming again...
