So spring break is this next week. Seeing how we don't really know anybody here yet and I don't want to listen to the kids being bored all week, I am thinking of going somewhere. I was thinking about heading up to good old Rexburg cuz I have lots of people there I would love to see. (This will of course depend on if Hadley and Devin get a break from sports for the week) I will probably come up monday or tuesday for about 2 days...I don't think that Rexburg could entertain us for much longer than that:)
so all you Idahoan's...Mary, Melissa, Shelley, Erin, Miriam, Corianne... What are your schedules like...would you have an hour or two for an old friend and her 3 rowdy kids??

Boxes
What has been one of the main constants in our life for the last two months? Boxes!:) For two months we have been surrounded by boxes, and at the rate I am un-packing...it will be several more months:) I don't know what the kids are going to do once the boxes are gone, they have been a good source of entertainment.
As I was unpacking last week, I would throw the empty boxes to the bottom of the stairs for Peter to break up and put in a pile in the basement. The kids decided this pile was an awesome fort. (the picture doesn't capture the size of the pile, it was really deep)
I almost got a picture of them in the "fort" but they saw me and ducked for cover, you can kinda see Hadley's head.

*sigh*! I, personally, am SICK of boxes. As much as I want them gone though, I am sick to death of packing/unpacking so I haven't done much of it lately. I am just so physically worn out from the last week of moving. Now I am actually sick, just a cold, but I feel like crap regardless. I look forward to the day where I finally get everything out of boxes, maybe once my cold goes away (and maybe if the weather would get better and be less cold and depressing) I will get motivated to finish.
I am never moving again!

Our house.
Well, we are moved in. Techincally it's not "our" house yet. But hopefully the bank will get going and we own it soon! I am having very mixed feelings about the move. I am actually really homesick! I think I just miss the familiarity and comfort of having lived somewhere for 6 years. Before this, we moved every 6 months to a year so we were used to it, this time, it's been 6 years so we were a little more attatched. I am excited, but I hate being new and starting all over. I am not much for change, I like routines and I am definetely out of my comfort zone/routine here. I know I complained alot about our old neighborhood, and it wasn't great but there are those few people that I am really missing!
It doesn't help that we moved in on the worst weather week we have had in a while. It is super windy and if it's not raining, it's snowing and it's bitter cold! So, we haven't really met anyone yet cuz everyone is just staying inside.Plus, since the house technically isn't ours yet, the for sale sign is still out front so I don't think alot of people have realized we moved in. So, we moved in...Peter went right to work and I have been cooped up in the house un-packing all week, so it's given me alot of time to get homesick:( We will survive, change isn't easy but give us some time and we will love it here!
Hadley is doing great, of course! He started school tuesday and already had a playdate yesterday. He starts baseball and soccer this week. He has 2 games and 1 practice a week for baseball and 1 game and 1 practice a week for soccer...plus scouts, so he/I will be super busy for the next few months.
Devin is having a harder time. He doesn't seem to realize yet that he isn't going back to school. He hasn't had many opportunities to meet other kids yet. The house accross the street has 5 year old twin boys, if the weather was ever nice enough to go outside I am sure they would have lots of fun together! He should be starting soccer this next week too, I am just going to have to be really forward and introduce ourselves and set up playdates for him.
Lexi is happy as can be. She is fine now that we have all our furniture and familiar things back:)
we are already in love with the house! We pray everyday that nothing will go wrong and we will get to buy it...do you know how much that would suck if this fell thru and we had to pack up and move again?!
So I tried to run around and take a few pictures before we unloaded the van. They aren't great and apparently my flash wasn't working on some of them, but you get the idea....some quick stats on the house, it's just over 4000sf. Upstairs is a living room, a great room, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and a laundry room. it has a 3 car garage and is on .25acres. the downstairs isn't finished yet but we don't care. Our old house was 2100sf, the main floor of this house is almost as big as our entire old house so we aren't hurting for space.
This is the front of the house, don't mind the garbage can that had just been dropped off:)
The backyard.
The great room.

Close up of my kitchen (which I LOVE)
Lexi checking out her room.

The half bath..pretty exciting huh:)

The Master bedroom...no flash apparently.

ABC Preschool
Since we are now an hour away, Devin is now done with his preschool class. we are so sad! I think I miss this school and his teacher more than anything...so does he! I got a picture of them his last day there. It was freezing outside so they are all bundled up and Annette's eyes are closed but oh well. Hadley went to this same school and I thought Lexi would too...very sad. Annette was more than Devin's teacher though. She was the Relief Society president thru mine and peter's rough patch and when I had Lexi, so we got to know each other really well. Then for the last two years we have been visiting teaching partner's. Then I also saw and talked to her all thru the week for preschool. Other than Peter, she was the person I saw the most often! I am really missing her!:(
From L to R... Miss Andra, Devin and Miss Annette....we are going to miss you so much!!!

The last 5 weeks.
I finally have gotten settled in enough that I pulled out my computer. I am at that annoying stage of unpacking, all the essentials are un-packed so I have no desire to finish the rest. I am so sick of packing and un-packing that I am on strike...for a day or two anyway:) I thought I would post a few of the pics I took over the last month and a half. I didn't take as many as I had hoped but oh well.
This is Devin and his broken arm.
This is him without the sling trying to get dressed. I accidently posted the pic twice and can't figure out how to delete it without deleting all of them so you get to see it twice:)

The kids playing on the trampoline at our rental.
Lexi playing in her brother's shoes.
The people above us had a little dog named Lily. Lexi loved her and they followed each other everywhere.

Hadley finaly lost his other front tooth. He had such a big space between his front tooth that he looks like he is missing 3 or 4 teeth instead of 2!:)

The place we stayed didn't have a bathtub:( so lexi got to take baths in the kitchen sink, she LOVED it! Devin was too big for the sink so he got stuck with showers, he HATED it! he has always hated water, and hates it when it gets in his face! After his first shower there(he cried thru every shower) I said, "what a big boy! your first shower!" and he looked at me and said "actually, that was my last shower!"

it was hard living in limbo in the rental but it was still kinda fun.

and yet ANOTHER boring picturless update.
k, first of all I have to apologize for my last post. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was annoyed that nobody commented on my blog! I don't really care, I mean, don't get me wrong...I like comments:) but I don't expect them. I myself read alot of blogs but don't take the time to comment very often. It was just interesting how now that I get on a computer once a week...there are no changes...I don't understand what I used to do online everyday!!:)
Not much else is going on...I am sitting around sulking that I am done reading the twilight books:) I ALMOST wish I hadn't read them cuz now I am just sad they are over. I saw the movie and was very disappointed. I was prepared for the low budget cheesiness of it...but it just didn't even compare to what I have in my head. And I know they can't cram 500 pages into a 2 hour movie but I really thought they would at least TRY to get more of the romance aspect of it accross...oh well, I still saw it twice:) and will probably still be in line at midnite for the next one:)
anyhoo, we are moving into our house next weekend. So hopefully the next time I get on a computer I will have pictures!

it's all falling together.
well, life seems to be finally working out for us. We still dont have a for sure answer or closing date on this house that we love BUT we have gotten permission from the bank to rent it until we close!YAY!!! So we will start moving in on the 19th and we will be in our house...we wont technically own it for a month or two but at least we will be there and life can get going again.
I have finished all the twilight books, twice:) Tonight Peter and I are going out with his sister and her hubby...Cafe Rio and Twilight:) I am excited.
anyhoo, that's about all.
I have to say, living without the internet has made me realize how much we don't need it:) other than the occasional banking and whatever. Not that many people leave me comments on my blog or facebook and I get nothing but spam when it comes to email....I am wondering what on earth i used to do on here everyday!! I am definetley going to be only getting on once a week when we get it back....or so I say now:)
