Let the countdown begin..

See that? Yup, that's a cast. Peter's wrist has been bothering him for a while now. he finally went and got it checked out and it's broken. So, they casted him up and he is out of work for 6 weeks....he can't wash his hands very easily with the cast on and apparently the hospital frowns upon un-clean hands...so they kicked him to the curb for 6 weeks.
which means we are stuck with him....I mean we get him home for 6 weeks!:)YAY!:) He will go back the day after school starts...the countdown has begun for that week:)

How is it going you may be wondering?? well, it's been one week so far. And ladies, you know how your hubbies get when they are sick...kinda, well, baby-ish and helpless? well, throw a cast on them and it doubles, at least. I love my hubby but it's going to be a long 6 weeks!:)

Impromptu Camping Trip.

On Sunday...Mandi texted us and said "let's go camping tomorrow". So on Monday we headed up to her Grandpa's cabin in Farmington Canyon. We went up, had dinner and the kids played. we hung out by the fire til 1am, then got up and ate and packed and cleaned up and headed home again. We were gone literally only 24 hours. it was fun tho, so thanx Mandi for planning it:)

Peter, holding brynley while mandi worked on dinner.

Tanya peeling potatoes for dinner...she was such a good sport coming with us, she doesn't love camping:)

Mandi, Jared, Hadley and Spencer working on the dutch ovens for dinner.

Amber and lexi were so cute, walking down the road holding hands.

All the kids eating dinner.

Lexi, enjoying her chicken.

Jared...teaching the boys how to play with fire.

This is how Lexi roasted her marshmallows...

...which is why she looked like this the whole time. SO dirty!! I think the mountain was smaller when we left cuz lexi took most of the dirt home with her.

Jared and Peter hanging out with the kids by the fire while the women folk were upstairs getting the sleeping arrangements figured out.

All the boys lined up ready for bed.

Peter cooking sausages for breakfast.

Jared brought his gun and let the kids shoot it...which they loved!

one last pic as we headed down the mountain.

Oh Lexi..

The other day I realized that Lexi was being really quiet. I went in search of her and she came running around the corner yelling "Me Batman!"...and I saw this. Now, I am not sure why smearing diaper cream all over yourself makes you Batman...but apparently it made sense to Lexi.
Needless to say the whole Batman part of the conversation was so cute that I stayed nice and calm and took a picture instead of getting mad...but boy was it a bugger to clean up!
This is just one of the many situations I have found her in this last week or so. I found her in my bathroom with a whole tube of neosporin smeared all over the floor. I found her squirting hand sanitizer all over the house....the list goes on and on. needless to say....if Lexi is quiet, she is in trouble!

and besides getting into trouble...she knows how to work her daddy! the other night she was freaking out about going to bed. started screaming for dad. So I sent peter up to deal with her. an hour later I went to see what was going on and instead of being firm and making her go to bed...I found him laying next to her bed. He is such a sucker!

Gateway Water Fountains.

A couple weeks ago, Mandi, Tanya and I took our kids to play in the water fountains at the Gateway in SLC. Unfortunately my memory card was full so I only got 2 pics.

Devin and Spencer having fun. (Devin is in the orange flowered swimsuit and Spencer is in the gray shirt next to him)

Amber and Lexi scoping out the situation.
Lexi wasn't too sure about the whole thing...and of course never went in.

4th of July

The 4th of July was more of a whole weekend event, with the 4th being on a Sunday. Saturday we went to Peter's parent's for a bbq, then to watch the fireworks at deseret peak with friends. Sunday we had been invited to 2 bbq's. we went to dinner at the first one and then came home in time for the firework portion of the 2nd. Monday we got together with some friends for smores and fireworks.

Watching the fireworks at Deseret Peak...Mark successfully hid himself in every photo...that's him behind the baby:)

T-Will and her girls watching the fireworks...which were kinda lame because there was a soccer tournament going on and they didn't shut off the stadium lights for the fireworks.

Lexi and Cooper watching the show.

Hanging around chatting and eating smores on Monday.

Cute Lisa... and Tanya trying to ignore me.

Mandi, brown sugar and gwen watching the firework show.

Tanya, Susan and all the kiddos.(nick and lisa are in there somewhere too)

Eclipse!

A small group of us went to the midnight premier of Eclipse on Tuesday. A few theaters also did a party called Twifest. We got some free goodies and they had vendors set up where you could shop and have fun. later as it got dark there was a dj and a little mosh pit action going on. we danced our butts off and got t-shirts. it was a blast. we were all a little tired the next day since we didn't get home til 3:30am but it was worth it!

Unfortunatly, going at midnight...you get alot of the crazies in your theater. So, we are going again this week so we can catch the whole movie without the yelling and screaming and the moron with the laser pointer...and we can be more awake:)

The beginning of the night with our Eclipse lanyards.

They had some "look-a-likes" there...and yes, I know I put quotes around those. cuz whether they really looked like them is yet to be determined.

This Jacob look-a-like...well, poor guy...I am just embarrassed for him. (the abs were very obviously make-up)

The Edward guy was the same one from last year. Again, not so great in the looking like Edward department...plus he was quite stuck on himself!

The Victoria one was probably the best of the 3.
Actually, I thought many of the fans looked much better than the paid look-a-likes!

In our seats waiting for the movie to start.

janice,tanya,mandi, me and julie.

And of course our friend Tekarri was there with her sisters so we met up and got a pic with her.

Tanya, me, mandi and Tekarri.

Girl's Trip.

Me and two of my good friends went on a girl's trip the beginning of June. We decided to make it a yearly thing and this year we decided to go to Seattle. And of course, being only a few hours away from Forks...we had to go there too!:)
The pics are all out of order so sorry about that:)
We left, Monday June 7th and flew out of SLC. We got to Seattle and got our rental car and drove to Port Angeles. We stayed the night there and the next day went to Forks. That night we drove back to Seattle and then spent all day Wednesday exploring Seattle. then Thursday we headed home. It was SO much fun. 4 days of no kids or anything. just hanging out and sitting in hot tubs every night and staying up late. I had a blast and can't wait for next years trip...and hopefully more of the girl's will be able to go!

This is a shot of the Seattle skyline at night. When we came back from Forks, we took the ferry across Puget Sound. It was windy and rainy but so worth it. The view of the skyline all lit up was amazing!

We spent the trip on the observation deck so we were a little wet and windblown when it was over.

Did I mention that it was windy?:)

Some more attempts to get a good picture of the view.

LaPush baby! After exploring Forks we head to the Quillute reservation. It was gorgeous there!

Tanya being too lazy to get out of the car and take a picture of the sign.

Taking pics with this huge tree that was just laying across First Beach.

Hanging out on First Beach in our matching hoodies from the Dazzled by Twilight store.
(mandi, me & tanya)

Me and Mandi.

This was the sign up as you entered the rez. The people of Washington have sure capitolized on the Twilight Phenom...can you blame them?:)

Mandi, Tanya and me by Bella's truck.

Tanya, Mandi and me at the Dazzled by Twilight store...which was amazing. we could have spent half the day in there!

Posing with some of the cutouts at the store.

This was the line of cars behind us waiting to get pics with the Forks sign.

Welcome to Forks!!

On the way from Port Angeles to Forks there is a beautiful lake. we stopped and took a hike up to a waterfall. Pictures can't begin to capture how amazing the forest was!
Had to get this pic of Tanya trying to get the picture that Mandi wanted.

Tanya really embraced the tree-hugging culture of the northwest!

The falls.

Anyone who knows me and knows my love of heights...knows just how much fun I had crossing two of these bridges to get to the falls. (are you picking up on my sarcasm?)

Enjoying some of the wildlife...there were these huge nasty slugs...so of course we all tooks pics of them for our boys. they had to have been at least 5inches long...so gross!

More gorgeous scenery.

Me and Tanya in front of a fountain in Port Angeles.

Mandi and I in front of the restraunt in Port Angeles. We look a little wierd cuz we weren't ready for the pic...but it's the only one I have.

Mt. Ranier from the plane.

Peter was jealous that I was going. He is a huge Nirvana fan and of course Kurt Cobain was from Seattle. The SAM was doing a Kurt exhibit for the summer.

bonding with the Pike's Place Pig.

We went to the very first Starbuck's ever. I am sure they loved us...3 mormon girls in a crowded/busy starbucks, trying to figure out what did and didn't have coffee in it.

Tanya getting REALLY cozy with the pig.

This place was SO cool. We thought we would spend an hour or so there and then have to find something else to take up the day but we spent all day there!

Thanx for such a fun time girls!!
