more pics9/20

The boys checking out the beach our first day there. They were disappointed they couldn't play that day.
Lexi experiencing sand for the first time. you can tell from the foot marks, she just kept sliding her foot over it.
We put her down and she frantically kept crawling to get off of it. Once she realized it didn't end, she wanted to be picked up.
These are just a couple pics of the amazing landscaping at this place. I can't even imagine what their hoa fee's are:)

Day Two 9/20(part 1)

The view of the beach standing on our patio.
They even have a putting green.
One of the pools.
Fishies!
Everyone looking at the fishies.
Peter actually in a kitchen:)
The ever important wet bar!
Our bedroom. each bedroom had it's own huge closets and bathrooms.
The boys room, they were so excited that they had a tv in their room. It may have been their favorite part of the trip the way they talk about it.
The living room of our condo

Saturday we got to our condo. The place we stayed (and have stayed before) is called north coast village. we love it there. it's this huge, beautiful complex. They have a coi pond and pools and hot tubs and game rooms and when you walk in you feel like you have stepped into another tropical world. It is so pretty there.

The patio of our condo opened right to the beach. It was really nice for access and going back and forth...sucked cuz of the all the beach traffic and noise. We got there, unloaded the car. The kids of course had to go check out the beach. Then, Peter and Hadley took off for their Dodger's game (next post) while the rest of us stuck around the condo for our horrible night that I wrote about earlier.

Day One 9/19

Getting started on the road. Hadley was still slightly annoyed/confused.
Lexi happily snoozing the drive away.
When we lost the tv sound, the boys were getting really rowdy. I looked back to find them fighting each other with their pillows on their heads.

We were planning on taking off about 1pm on friday. I had put off alot of packing til that morning and was kind of rushed. To top it off a piece of my tooth fell out the night before so I had to spend a good chunk of the morning at the dentist. I didn't have a cavity or anything I had just fractured my tooth and it finally cracked all the way. He says it's probably from all the ice I chewed during my pregnancy...I can't help my wierd cravings! He decided to just fill it instead of a full root canal to see if that would fix it...update: it did for two weeks, it's killing me again and I am going to go have to get the root canal:(.
We actually managed to get out the door about 1:30, not too shabby in my opinion. Once again the kids thought we were leaving the next week so we were going to suprise them, well, we had told Devin that morning. We went over to get Hadley from school and he was in an assembly and they pulled him out. He was very grumpy. I told him we had errands to run and that I wouldn't be done in time for school getting out so I was just taking him now...boy was he mad! He wanted to stay and watch the assembly. He was crying and upset...I just kept snickering waiting til he saw all the suitcases in the car. He was much happier once he found out.
So we hit the road and had a very uneventful first day. I cheated and put Lexi in a forward facing carseat (even tho she isn't big enough for it) for the trip thinking she would be happier. She was actually ok that first day from our house to vegas, mostly cuz she didn't realize what was going on, the next day she had it figured out and was a little grumpier.
Before our trip we had a tv intalled in the car so that kept the kids busy for a while...when we got close to vegas, apparently they just have so many radio stations that we lost our station that the movie sound comes from...that sucked!

not in the mood

Today is Peter's 16hr shift, the day I usually catch up on a lot of blogging but I am so not in the mood. I just want to go lay in bed and do nothing...the fact that I know there is a Private Practice waiting on my dvr for me doesn't help either:)
I have had a lazy couple of days. I think that the trip finally caught up with me and I have just had no energy and wanted to do nothing. But, if I don't start writing about the trip..I will start forgetting it cuz I have mommy brain! so, i guess I will just write about one day at a time til I am caught up. and the fact that there is a load of laundry on my bed is kinda inspiring me to do this instead too!:)

Previous post

I have to add to our Al Gore post:) Hadley has always taken LONG showers and HOT showers. I am not kidding, that kid is in the shower for 20 minutes and it's like walking into a steam room after he gets out!
So, last night I tell him to go downstairs and shower. In 5 minutes he goes down, showers and is back upstairs dressed. This was our conversation.

M: Your done already?!
H: Yeah
M: did you wash everywhere...and your hair?
H: Yes mom
M: wow, that was fast. you usually take really long showers
H: I don't want to waste the earth's water
M: where are you hearing this stuff?
H: TV ( he watches the discovery channel alot)
M: I laugh
H: it's not funny mom, we really need to start caring about this earth we live on!

this of course led to a lovely conversation about taking care of the things the Lord has given us. He is such a good kid. I am so proud of him and the things he cares about! He says someday we will be watching him on the discovery channel...I believe it! He has such a strong personality and was truly saved for these latter days! I love you Hadley!!!

Eaten Alive!

We went downstairs to check on the boys before bed yesterday and Hadley had fallen asleep with his shark on his face...it was very cute. We always find him asleep with some sort of fort built out of his blankets and stuffed animals.

Go Dodgers!

Peter and Lexi in their dodger shirts. Lexi's says "my first LA dodgers tee" or something like that...I don't want to go find it to make sure:) Peter got it for her at his game. They wore them in celebration of the Dodgers making thru the first round of the playoffs!

Al Gore would be so proud!

This was a conversation Hadley and I had last night

H: I don't want to grow up
M: well, you have to.
H: no I don't, I will drink Dr. Pepper (turd)
M: you will still be a grownup, just a small one
H: well, then I will make the dr. give me a shot to keep me from growing up
M: why don't you want to grow up?
H: there wont be any water
M: what?
H: you guys are destroying the earth for us kids!

A fun day with dad

Posing for mom before the game
Hadley and Devin watching the balls
Peter helping devin with the ball launcher thing
I tried to take a picture of Peter bowling but he saw me and ran up
for a closeup instead...turd.

Yesterday Peter had the day off. The boys were supposed to have their last soccer games of the fall season but thanks to the non-stop rain all day they cancelled them...pansies! So, we decided to go out and have a fun family day.
We took the kids over to Jack and Jills for bowling...I am suprised Devin didn't put a hole in their floor dropping the ball! It was fun except for the fact that Peter beat me both games...that never happens! I will blame it on the fact that it hurt my bad knee:)

After bowling we headed over to Costco for a late lunch...gotta love the $1.50 hotdog and drink!! Then we went to Thanksgiving Point and saw The Dark Knight..finally. It was really good, Devin fell asleep in the middle of it. And I made a friend:)...not really. There was this grumpy old guy in front of Hadley's seat. He kept sitting up, turning around and shaking his head "no" at Hadley...we couldn't figure out what he was doing. I then watched him take all kinds of food out of his pocket that he had snuck in and proceeded to eat it. And let me say for the record, my leg was crossed and was in front of Hadley's feet...he was NOT kicking or even touching this guy's chair. I guess he had had it with the phantom kicking;) and turned around an very rudely said to me "would you tell him to stop doing that!" I leaned over, and in my nicest voice (i swear) I said "I will, just as soon as you go tell the manager about the food in your pocket" He never turned around again.

Anyway, it was such a fun day. I love days like this!

I really can't think of a name for this post...

So, I won't name it:). I am a little behind on posting..and hopefully this next week I will get our trip on here. but I have some good news...I don't have breast cancer! I know, most of you probably didn't know that it was a concern, I didn't see any point in worrying everybody til we knew there was something to worry about. To make a long story short, for the last 4 months I have been dealing with horrible breast pain on one side. My labs came back indicating something was wrong, they threw around the "c" word alot and I finally got in for an ultrasound and no cancer...good news, except that we still don't know what's causing the pain:(.
On that note, I have sad news...Lexi has decided she is done nursing. Before I even start let me just say that I dont' mean to offend anyone who doesn't breastfeed...it's a personal choice but for me...I love it, I cherish it and I am completely brokenhearted that she is done. I nursed both the boys til they were 15 months old and was planning on doing the same for her. None of my kids have ever in their lives had a bottle...ever! This last week she just stopped one day. I figured it was a nursing strike (both the boys did it) (you can google it if you don't know what that is) anyway, I wasn't too worried. I pumped a little with my hand pump to relieve pressure:) but she had no interest. by the second day..I seemed to have no milk left. I figured it was the crappy hand pump and went and rented a hospital one...pumped for about 4 hours...off and on of course and got 1 ounce. I have officially lost my milk...after two days!!! (maybe it's related to my pain) Anyway, she is taking bottles now...which absolutely makes me sick! I cry every nite to Peter about it. Peter says she is just a stubborn girl:) I am trying to think of it as a blessing in disguise...maybe my problems will go away now...or they will find out whats wrong. Oh well, we will see.
