Gardner Village.

The kids didn't have school the thursday or friday before Halloween so we went with some friends to Gardner Village. The weatherman said it was supposed to be a nice day in the 60's...it was freezing!!
we had fun looking at all the Halloween decorations and talked about going back without the kids so we could actually go into the stores...we didn't think they would appreciate us bringing 10 kids thru their stores:)
The kids got too cold pretty quick so we ended up at McDonalds for a couple hours. It was lots of fun tho.

I couldn't resist this picture. they all (minus megan and lexi) leaned over to look at the ducks.

First snow.

We got our first snow of the year this last week. the boys had a blast in it. making forts and having snowball fights. Of course it was all gone 2 days later. and here we are today with the windows open and ceiling fans back on "summer"...gotta love fall in Utah!!!

Stickers.

When Lexi was born, our friends/neighbors, the Dennison's (aka grandma sue) gave lexi a bunch of gifts. one of them was a huge Disney princess's book for when she was older. Lexi discovered this week that the last 4 pages of said book were all stickers. I have been dealing with this(see below) all week! Luckily today she used the last of them!

Week 6.

The outside is almost done. they just need to put on the shutters, the railing up the stairs, the outside lighting and paint the front door.

this is the greatroom again. it's the only space big enuf to get a good picture that really shows the whole thing..that's why you keep seeing it:) They got all the painting done friday and saturday. (we just did all white...I didn't see any point in paying them for two-tone paint when I would just change it all to the color I want anyway)the baseboards are all on. they put the doors on...but then took them off to paint (??) they started tiling around the fireplace and all the bathroom and laundryroom floors are in. they also put all the shelving in the pantry and closets.

it's going fast. Looks like we will definetely be in before christmas. we are hoping it will be done and ready to close on december 10th...peter's 4 day weekend so we have plenty of time to move.

Week 5.

We decided to change our weekly picture day from tuesday to sunday. So here is week 5. the outside still looks the same. I guess they are waiting for the stucco base to dry. all the sheetrock, mudding, taping and texturing is done inside.

this is standing at the front door looking into the house.

This is the "formal" living room...we will be using it as an office.

Mary, you can come visit again.

These guys are gone:)

After finding out that I was super allergic, we talked the boys into let us get rid of the rats. to be honest they hardly ever played with them anymore and it was just me and peter doing all the work cleaning the cage and buying food and bedding.
It was a little sad, but mostly...life just got easier:)
no more pets for the Olson's!!! well, except the dog we already have. but once she is gone...no more!! except I really want a big fishtank!:)

Such a girl.

I find it so interesting how Lexi has just naturally become so enthralled with girly things. In a house full of cars and power rangers and bakugan...she has become obsessed with babies and stuff like that! it is soooo cute. she has these babies that she carries everywhere. she feeds them and takes them to bed, I caught her the other day in the bathroom putting hand sanitizer on her babies hands:)

I was at Coscto yesterday and got her a baby set with a stroller and some other stuff for her upcoming birthday(sniff) Peter took one look at it last night and said "I'm not ready for this" Our baby is growing up so fast. I wish somebody out there would figure out a way to freeze children!! It is really starting to freak me out. I LOVE this stage of life. I like having little kids.

Week 4.

This picture is a few days late because it has gotten tricky trying to get pictures. the men are there working usually until 7, and I don't want a picture full of workers. but we have reached the time of year where it's getting dark around 7ish so I can't get a picture after they leave anymore cuz it's too dark. I managed to drive by today and get one. as you can see they have started the stucco...that isn't the color it will be:) that's just some base they put down first. I couldn't get a picture of the inside, I wish I had because Peter and I walked thru it last night and it looks like a house! the insulation and sheetrock is completely done! it looks so different!!
I guess we may have to change our picture day to Sunday...although they have worked a couple Sunday's too!

it's hard to believe that 4 weeks ago there was nothing but a big hole with some concrete walls!

Week 3.

This week there are not as many noticable changes that you can see in the pics. Alot of the work was in the house, they got all the plumbing and electrical and heating in. They also finished the roof and put the windows in and poured the driveway.
we had our walkthru today to make sure everything was as it should be and he said they would start insulating friday and sheetrock will start going in on monday. we should also get the back patio and the front steps and the stucco done this next week.
Unfortunately he said this is the part that goes fast...now comes the more tedious work of the inside. they have to have inspections more often and just waiting on a million different people, cabinets, lights, flooring etc etc... he still says it will be done by the end of november so hopefully we will be closing around Thanksgiving.
