Pinewood derby.

Last year we moved out of our old ward right before they did the derby. and moved into the new one right after they had done it. So this year hadley finally got to do a pinewood derby. He didn't come in a top finishing spot...but he didn't come in last either which is pretty good for his (and peter's) first attempt at a car.

Lining up the cars for one of the heats.

Everybody watching the races.

The boys watching the finish line.

Hadley did not want his picture taken, but being the good mom that I am...I forced him.
they had built the track so that anybody who had put their weight on the bottom of the car...it wouldn't clear the track so peter had to put his weight on top at the last minute (as did many kids) but hadley wasn't happy about the look and is convinced that is why he didn't win...thus the sulking:)

And....one more time without the finger:)

Birthday fun.

We are heading out on vacation tomorrow and so the camera needs to be emptied. I only have a few pics to blog about thankfully because the house also needs to be picked up and I haven't even started packing. I am the queen of procrastination!! No, really, I am. And, I am really good at it! fortunately(?) I have yet to ever have a bad experience come from procrastination so I see no need to stop any time soon.

My friend, Tanya, had her birthday on st. patty's day. me and a couple other friends took her out for an afternoon of silly fun. and what do a group of 29ish yr old mormon moms do for fun on st.patty's day...we go bowling!:)

Now, these first pictures are a lesson. If you are one of those people who try to hide from pictures...just realize, that you will end up with so many more pictures of you than if you had just sucked it up and posed for one. So, this is Susan, who didn't want to get her picture taken. Of course they went out of order so the top one is her finally giving in and posing. (and for some reason my camera did not want to take a good pic at this place so sorry for the blurry-ness)

oops, sorry...got this one twice and I have yet to figure out how to delete pics from a post without deleting the whole post.

Tanya takes her bowling very seriously

Mandi with baby Brynley. poor thing had gotten shots that day and wasn't as happy to be there as we were:(

This is what happens when your birthday is the same week as the release of New Moon:)

I love these girls!!! seriously, I can't believe there was a time in my life that I did not know them. I have only been here one year and already I feel like I have known them forever. not many days go by that we don't see each other. we are all going seperate ways for spring break and while our hubbies are glad to have a break from all our "togetherness" we are definetely going thru some withdrawls. thank goodness for texting!!:)

Our scores...that's right...I got a 54. and I am proud of it so keep your mouth shut!

Craft Project.

I got together with a few friends on saturday and we made bows for our girls. we had gone out earlier in the week and bought flowers and ribbons etc.. I think I may be addicted to this!:) I think they turned out pretty good for our first attempt.

Grass.

For the sake of the kid's lives...and my sanity....we need it ASAP!!

This is what our yard looks like now...and with the warm weather, below is what the kids do all day. I have dark floors that show every bit of dirt and dust and I am going to go crazy!

I got the hint.

the emails, the blog comments, the facebook comments...I got it... I have neglected my poor blog:) don't worry, I told him it wasn't serious when we started...my blog knew what it was getting into.

Well, life has been busy. Busy...but not necessarily blog-worthy. Just lots of school and basketball and soccer. with alot of hanging out with the girls and movies and unpacking and garage cleaning and a few weeks of Strep Throat thrown in there.
Soccer is done. Basketball was supposed to be done saturday but we made the playoffs (mixed feelings):) we are done being sick...now I get a break...for a week or so.

Soccer starts up the 2nd weekend of April and baseball soon after...BOTH of those sports for BOTH boys...shoot me now! Hadley has always done both, but this will be the first year Devin also does both. should be lots of fun. I am still the uniform coordinator for the soccer league which means the next two months will be full of ordering and organizing and handing out uniforms. then, on top of that, at the last soccer meeting I somehow got roped into taking over the website too!
We are heading to San Clemente for spring break in 26 days (not that I am counting) We are so excited to go. it's going to be even more fun because some of our new friends out here are going to be down there for a wedding so we are gonna meet up and par-tay.
Anyway, that is my life right now. I finally got the boy's party posts done so technically I am caught up now. those and the picture below are the only pics I have of this year so far.

These are mine, Tanya's and Mandi's kids (minus baby bryn and lexi, cuz of course she was terrified of it...suprise suprise) playing in the hot tub. so there you have it...all my pics and summary of our year so far.

Hadley's Birthday Party.

We did Hadley's party Saturday, the day after their birthday. Our original plan was to go to Gorgoza Park in Park City. But, there was a big snowstorm that weekend. When we called up there Saturday morning they said it was a blizzard...so we had about 3 hours to come up with a new party idea.

We decided to go to Boondocks, and the boys had a BLAST!!! Probably more fun than they would have had tubing so it worked out great.

Hadley ready to do the Go-Karts.

All the boys, lined up and ready to go.

We did miniature golf...they have two 18 hole courses...the boys did both in under 5 minutes total. no score keeping. just hitting balls and lots of running. we could hardly keep up with them.

we did get them to stop and pose for a picture finally

and after being goofballs....

we got a decent one.

(L to R) Bridger, Hadley, Quinton, Ethan and Tegan.

When they got to the end, they tried to get the ball in the first time cuz it shot flames out of it's head if you made it (in the summer it sprays you with water). so they gave up trying to hit the balls in and tried to roll them...it didn't work.

Ethan even climbed under the gate to throw it in....he still missed:)

Then he had a hard time getting out.

Getting ready for some Laser Tag.

After several exhausting hours, we took the boys to McDonalds for dinner and presents, then headed home.

Happy 9th Birthday Hadley!!! Let's be completely honest here and just admit that you have reached a difficult age... you talk back and sometimes have quite the attitude, just to name a couple things:)...but you still have a big heart and will always be my Goober. We love you so much!!!

*Side note...I recently realized that my son is now the same age that I was when I went to live with my Aunt and her family....wierd! That seems like so long ago, yet I can completely remember being 9 like it was yesterday...which helps when dealing with hadley:)

Devin's Birthday Party.

Devin chose to go to Chuck E Cheese for his party. we went on his actual birthday, friday, jan, 22nd. we took Lexi with us but made Hadley stay at a friends so that Devin could have his own party with no big brother to bother him.
we only had room in the car to invite 4 people and unfortunately only two were able to make it...but he is 6...I don't think he cared if 2 people or 12 had come...they had a blast.

Aldren, Tyler and Devin (Devin wore that crown from school the whole weekend!)

Opening presents, Aldren got him Sea Monkey's...yup folks, apparently Sea Monkey's are still around:)

While the boys ran around using up a large quantity of tokens...lexi just rode this all night.

Happy Birthday Devin!!! You are such a sweet boy (when your big brother isn't around tormenting you) and we love you so much!!

I have lost the will to blog.

(as you can see by the date, I did upload a couple pics and tried to blog a while ago, I just didn't finish it)

I have had absolutely no desire to get on here for the last month or so. it's not for lack of things to blog about...I just don't want to:) So, I will do a blog with some random pics from january...who knows, maybe it will inspire me and I will do some more....don't hold your breath tho:)

January has just been busy. Hadley is playing on an indoor soccer team right now. Hadley AND Devin are playing Jr. Jazz Basketball right now. The boys had birthdays, lexi is just crazy as usual, peter is still working almost 70 hours a week. I am busy being mommy and of course having fun:) I get together on Monday nights with a group of girls to watch The Bachelor...cuz it's a blast to watch/make fun of. Book Club started back up so we went out to dinner to pick our books for the year. I had girls night out last week, we went to dinner and to see When in Rome(super cute/funny).

Yesterday we hosted a SuperBowl party. I am still full today:) and the house is kind of a disaster from it but I am doing nothing about it cuz I need time to recover from last week. Lexi was super sick and therefore SUPER clingy. I got nothing done. Now Devin is getting sick and Hadley is full blown sick. He is supposed to be turning in his science fair project tomorrow but had to get an extension cuz he has been sick and hasn't been able to finish it (we were planning on doing the display board this weekend but he got sick)

To top it all off, I discovered some new books...and if you know me, once I start a book/series, I can't put it down til it's done. so I read 11 books in just over a week...dont worry there was a break in between:) I started reading the Vampire Academy books the weekend of the new year. I read 4 of them in 3 days. SOOOO good. There are 4 books out right now and 2 more coming out, the next not until May (I may die waiting) (there are 6 more in the works after that written from another characters pov) and don't make fun of me:) I freely admit that I am a twihard, but this series...blew twilight out of the water...for me anyway! they are currently making their way thru my friends in the neighborhood.:)

Then, the author of that series recommended the Morganville Vampire series, there are currently 7 of those out...2 more coming. They were good...not great...but good enuf to hold my attention. also, a REALLY easy read. I read all 7 in 4 days. a couple days I even read 2 in a day. Don't judge me:) I swear I didn't completely neglect my kids and house...I just got no sleep:)

So, that is our January. We will finish up the sports this month. then in March we are off to SoCal for spring break...I wish that was now!

The boys waiting to meet the Jazz player at the pizza night for Jr. Jazz...to be completely honest. I have not been impressed with how it is run and will probably never put my kids in it again. (to be fair, I am sure not all area's are like this, each county runs their own.)

The Jazz player...of course some foreign guy I have never heard of and barely spoke english. he was so nervous at first, then halfway in he decided he was a stand-up comedian and was trying to be funny...only you couldn't understand him. plus, he totally killed some kids playing a game of lightning...then after he beat the last kid, somebody came up and said something to him and he turned to the audience and said "oops, I guess I was supposed to let one of you beat me"

The boys had their birthday on January 22nd.(I will do seperate party posts later) I wanted to start their day off good so I had balloons and their present from us waiting at their seat at the table when they woke up that day.

Since they share a birthday, we try to seperate it as much as possible. we usually do 2 cakes, but this year it just didn't happen. We gave them seperate parties tho...and sang to them individually so hopefully they didn't mind sharing the cake.

They spent one saturday pulling each other up and down the hallway on blankets. they finally talked me into pulling them all in a train.

My dad sent Lexi a bucket with stuffed frogs in it for christmas...she pushes them around the house in her stroller.

Now, hopefully the following pictures don't mean she is going to be obsessed with tattoo's when she is older!! her favorite thing to do is draw on herself. pens, markers, sharpies...whatever she can get her hand on. when she finds a pen, she immedietly pulls up her pant leg and starts coloring. I don't think she has been without some kind of ink on her skin a single day in the last month.

This was just cute:) she woke up quite grumpy from her nap the other day. she just sat on the landing and cried for a while. she got really mad when I got out the camera:)

Peter helping Hadley stretch before either basketball or soccer (not sure which) and lexi came up and started copying him, and then devin joined in.

Peter's parents got us an RC Willey gift card for christmas. we used it to help us buy this cute table for my hallway. the picture doesn't really do it justice. it makes it look actually alot brighter/pea green than it is. it's more of a sage-ey green with cream antiquing around the edges. it is super cute, I love it:)

The last weekend before kids had to head back to school, I took them (and one friend each) to Kangaroo Zoo. This is Lexi playing with M&M's while the boys ran around....yes, I helped her sort those....I also freely admit that I am a little OCD! I always have to have my M&M's sorted like that to be able to eat them:)

just playing at Kangaroo Zoo. Hadley actually got lexi to go on a few of the inflatables....we are making progress(slowly) on her whole scared of everything phase!

Missed it.

I can't believe I missed the obligatory New Year's post! ok, here it is:

Oh my gosh, I cant believe its a new year already...it seems like just yesterday, blah blah blah.... I am so gonna lose weight and be a better person etc etc etc....

ok, I feel so much better now:)

seriously tho, it has been an awesome year. I am totally loving my new neighborhood and the great new friends we have made. it's been a good year for us.

on an exciting note...ok, not really exciting but whatever...I actually stayed up til midnight for the first time since I got married (my hubby is such an old lady about his bedtime routine and is a party pooper about staying up late!) so that was a big accomplishment. nothing too exciting. just watched a movie with a couple friends.
I am looking forward to the new year and we hope you all have a good one!
